I'm sure that you've all heard that the movie release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been moved to July 2009, and that Twilight will now be released on November 21. If not- SURPRISE!!
Anyways, some people (ahem, Twilighters) are being really dumb and saying that this is because Warner Bros. is afraid of competition from Twilight. Please. I highly doubt that. I mean, if they are afraid of competition, why would they move it's release to the summer, when it will have to compete with the next Transformers movie? As much as I love Twilight, I know its just not as big as HP. Some fans (from both sides) are taking this really seriously and getting their knickers in a knot. Honestly, who cares! Some folks (HP fans) are actually planning on boycotting Warner Bros. and not going to see HP at all when it comes out in July. I understand they're upset, but really! Either you see it in July or you don't see it at all! I'm personally just going to see it in July.
I was actually looking forward to this Harry Potter movie. I was not impressed with the previous ones, though I don't mind the books. But this one looked okay. I really just want to see more of mini-Voldy. He looks like a nasty little thing. And Dumbledore's outfit in that scene... haha. It looks like he has a polka-dot collar on. And the way he sets that wardrobe on fire... man, that was cool.
I'm guessing HP has been moved because either: 1. The writers strike messed things up for them and they need more time to fix some aspects of the film, or, 2. They don't have a big summer blockbuster ready, and HP would be the perfect fill in.
Either way, I doubt that Warner Bros. is going to reverse their decision, no matter how many petitions you create and nasty letters you send. They really don't care what the fans think. They just care about profit. So both sides should quit being so nasty. Let's all be happy!
Well, at least, I am going to be happy. To bad for you of you don't plan on being so. But, then, Twilight is coming out early, so there is no reason for me not to be happy.

The movie's release date has been moved to take advantage of the lack of summer blockbusters next year. Which is lame and such a corporate thing to do, but, alas, it's their movie.... *sigh*
At least Twilight a couple weeks early makes up for it, hmm?
It's weird--I actually WANT to see this installment, even though I didn't see the last two.
